This weeks big winner is Steven Shreeve of Castro Valley. Shreeve, who is retired, played an exciting game of California Cool. After working his total up to an impressive 000, he decided to press on and make a run at a whopping 0000. Unfortunately he chose a false statement and had to settle for 000. I was going to go for broke, Shreeve said afterward. He plans to pay bills with some of his winnings. Leslie Marpuri, a 31-year-old Hayward resident and student at Foothill College, is Californias newest millionaire. Marpuri won the .6 million jackpot, becoming the sixth millionaire on the California Lotterys game show. The life-changing win will allow Marpuri and her family she is married and has four children to move out of their one bedroom apartment and into a nice new, spacious home. She will receive approximately 000 each year for the next 20 years. But the win almost didnt happen. Marpuri laid claim to her ticket to the show at one of the Make Me a Millionaire Mall Tour stops, even though she and her husband hadnt planned to go to the mall that day and didnt even know the Lottery game show was having an event there. Lu said that his win came at the right time because it will allow him time to seek out his dream job. He does not yet have any concrete plans for his prize money but said he would probably buy a new car.
